The second round of Showdown in O'Town Bonus Rounds went down last night and saw some pretty tight games of SKATE. The final came down to Kyle Albright and Terrill Sands who both tossed up some solid tricks, but Terrill's skills proved too difficult for a McDonald's value meal-powered Kyle.

The results were as follows:::::::
1st Terrill Sands [+4 pts]
2nd Kyle Albright [+3 pts]
3rd TJ Leighton [+2 pts]
4th (tied) Rodney Mann/Jeremy Hamilton [+1 pts]

What is up?! The date has been set for the Back to Square One premiere! The night; Thursday, June 3rd. The time; 7 pm.

This is Sean Garrity's new flick that he has been working on over the past couple years*. It is NOT an ELUSIVE video, but it is being sponsored by them, so show some love. There will be DVDs for sale for $15 bucks, so bring some cash. Sean said he will remember the people who buy DVDs and aim for them when it's product toss time, so keep that in mind!

The run time sits around 25 minutes and there will be no skating during the playing of the video (It's a sound pollution thing). The event is BYOM, Bring Your Own Munchies. We will be watching it on the bleachers, and you are reminded to please pick up after yourselves if you leave crumbs/bottles/etc behind.

There will be prizes given away through raffle and product toss, as well as best munchie, and best hat. So bring your best head gear and homemade trail mix and prepare to get free stuff!

Hello everyone, so I was holding off on the release of the video so I could toss in a trailer for Sean Gerrity's new diddy, Back to Square One, but a communication breakdown has ended up with him making a separate trailer, which isn't a bad thing!

Alien Workshop has a competition going on for the best line to come out of the Maritimes. This is a great reason to get out and shoot some footage!

While I'm not so sure on the use of the old school compass. The concept is great. Here is a copy of their press release::::

This is a skateboard video contest.

Best line wins a Alien Workshop gift pack, including Board, Wheels, Clothing etc.

You have until June 21st, International Go Skateboarding Day to post the links to your best line on the FistFullaFives facebook group (post them on Vimeo, Youtube, whatever).

Contest Timeline: May 21st - June 21st.

This contest is open to any skateboarder, sponsored, non sponsored, am, shop kid, shop owner but you must currently live in the Maritimes or Newfoundland.
Extra points for those using/incorporating Alien Workshop products.

We hope to promote the east and all its sick skate talent so spread the word and invite your friends, crews and any other skate rats to get out there and film.

I've been getting some good reviews about the teaser we released the other day for the park and I just wanted to let everyone know that a longer, non-HD-but-still-BA, video is on it's way within the next week. That's right. The next week.

We've got a lot of other 'Video News' floating around. It's still in the early planning stages, but it's looking like Oromocto Skate Park will be the host venue for the premiere of Fredericton-based, Sean Garrity's new flick 'Back to Square One'! Gnar!!

2010's first Showdown in O'Town went great. Because the real Showdown in O'Town will only begin when we open for full-time hours in June, the top 4 skaters received partial points to help towards their overall score when we start playing for real. It's like a preseason that counts!

In other news::::::::::::: 2010 teaser on it's way within days!

Showdown in O'Town is Oromocto Skate Park's homage to the Berrics' infamous Battle at the Berrics.

Here's how it works:
Think of it like Mario Kart. The more you place in the top 4, the higher your chances are of winning over all.

Names are drawn from a hat to select who you will play against.

The winner moves on to the winner of another game of skate, and so on.

1st place wins 9 points
2nd place wins 7 points
3rd place wins 5 points
4th place wins 3 points

Points are accumulated throughout the summer and the person with the most points at the end of the year, wins!

Thanks to everyone who came out to the park the last couple of nights!

Opening night was absolutely perfect! Great skating by everyone in attendance, and it was awesome to see familiar faces.

If you haven't gotten a chance to pop in yet, we're open 6-8 pm Mon-Sat every week until full time hours start in June.

REMEMBER: Helmets are mandatory. - We do not have helmets available for use until further notice! Also, Children under 13 need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian!
